At Biltmore Church, we are committed to partner with families in discipleship. It is our goal to help families embrace their role as the primary discipler of their kids.

Next Available Parent Commissioning Date:

Dinner/Orientation: Thursday, November 14th
Commissioning: Sunday November 17th

Parent commissioning represents a commitment on behalf of the parent to raise their child “in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4), and the commitment of Biltmore church to walk alongside families on that journey.

Through Parent Commissioning, we will help you discover your role and responsibility in your child’s spiritual development and how we, as a church, will partner with you in that mission.

Whether you are a first time parent through birth or adoption, have welcomed a new child into your family, or are new to Biltmore Church, we would love to partner with you in raising your child to follow Jesus.

Parent Commissioning is a two step process.

  1. Orientation and Dinner (Thursday Evening)
    • At orientation, we will discuss your biblical role and responsibility as a parent, and how Biltmore Church will partner with and help equip you along the way. At the dinner, your family will receive a gift to help you get started on your discipleship journey!
*attendance at orientation is mandatory in order to participate in parent commissioning *
  2. Commissioning (Sunday Morning)
    • During service on Sunday morning, you will be commissioned as the primary discipler in your home, making a commitment to raise your child to follow Jesus. The church will also commit to coming alongside you in that journey.

Whether you are a first time parent through birth or adoption, have welcomed a new child into your family, or are new to Biltmore church, we would love to partner with you in raising your child to follow jesus. Parent Commissioning is for parents who are committed to living according to God's Word and raising their child “in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

During orientation, you will learn about your role as the primary discipler of your kids, be given tools to help you start that journey, and learn how the church will come alongside you. You will also have the opportunity to meet and talk with other parents in the same life stage.

Dinner and childcare will be provided. Registration is required.

Each family who has attended orientation will be commissioned together from your home campus on Sunday morning. The Kids staff member at your campus will communicate arrival time and details with you.

Parent Commissioning differs from baby dedication. The focus is the commissioning of the parents/guardians to disciple their children. It is not necessary to attend Parent Commissioning each time your family grows. Feel free to attend again if you feel it would be a good time to recommit in making disciples of your kids.

Parent commissioning will happen 3 times per year. New dates will be released after each commissioning and registration will remain open as space allows.
